Welcome to Tamesa London Circle (TLC)

Tamesa logo-smTamesa London Circle, established in 2006 by Mani & April, Celebrates and works magically and spiritually with the River Thames, and it’s spirit (or deity)- known as Thamesis, Tamesa or Thames Isis. This includes the woods & parks of London. River Thames has a long association with London’s history and is full of ancient mysteries- worshiped from Tribal times to Romans and modern pagans and Hindus. Ancient artifacts and bones of cattle and human are still buried in it’s depths. These often surface after a high tide, along the shores.

Treasures of Tamesis: This is the name under which April creates and offers various tribal jewelery, using all sorts of tiny treasures and artifacts found on the banks of the Thames. April adds other items such as old coins, silver pendants, crystals & beads, animal tooth & bones  to create these tribal jewelleries. These used to be available in our stalls at various Pagan Festivals. These will be now available via this website - soon!

Tamesa Healing Circle: These briefly ran  at Atlantis Bookshop, are were discontinued.

Tamesa Lunar Rituals. suitable for beginners and experienced magical practitioners. Outdoor rituals on the banks of river Thames, and in nearby parks when appropriate. These rituals are based on Lunar cycles (full moon, dark moon, eclipses and work with energies and tides of the river Thames. Hence ritual days, times and locations vary (anywhere between the source of the Thames, to several central London locations, and at South-end-at-Sea where the river Thames meets the sea!).

2014:  Tamesa London Circle events will take place  on very specific occasions, such as annual Earth Hour walk,  River of Souls (Samhain), and the Thames-Isis events.

Thames-Isis Rituals in London 2014

Thames Isis Rituals 2013 - by Tamesa London Circle
.

We have completed our magical explorations of the Thames-Isis Ceremonies in 2013. And having been well-received by so many people who attended these rituals, we are inspired to continue them in 2014.

These events  are a combination of magical  ceremonies & pagan socials, and attune participants into the mysteries and magic of the Goddess Isis in a series of rituals to be held by the banks of river Thames in London. (Tamesis is an old name of river Thames, and supposedly  means `Thames-Isis’).

.Transpersonal concepts behind the name:

tamesa sepent & inner childAfter much soul searching, and realising there is a proactive effort needed for us to look after ourselves as well as the world around us, we aptly named this community group `Tamesa London Circle’ which also had the initials TLC (Tender Loving Care!). And our symbol (shown here) is the Magical Inner-child riding on the Tamesa Serpent beneath the waves of the river (symbolic of the Subconscious). We have done specific rituals o this matter to empower those attending (photo above).

Isidias Navigatum Blessing the Fleet ritual 2014 London-400 (c)Mani Navasothy

Blessing of the Fleet Ceremony (Isidias Navigatum)

  • Sunday 2nd March 2014
  • Richmond (by the river Thames)
  • 1pm to 4.30pm

This annual ceremony was held at the start of the Spring time in Ancient Egypt, to gain the blessings of Goddess Isis upon the ships and boats (Fleet) - so that they may go forth, find commerce, resources and wealth and bring them back.     You will have heard the saying, `waiting for my ship to come in’ - a saying that indicates a person waiting for his /her good fortunes to arrive.   Well, in order for ships to come in they must first be sent out - and with blessings and good plans.  We are adapting the  old ceremony to suit the times and place we now live it!  In this ceremony, we will bless the `fleet’ and place our hopes and wishes of good fortune and success in the ventures we are starting as Spring approaches. We then set the ships to sail (some will be sent.. other larger models will be pulled back, so as not to litter river Thames).

Ritual outline (tbc): A statue of the Goddess will be carried to the water. Women may offer mirrors so that Goddess Isis may see her beauty. We will pour milk on the banks   then sprinkle the statue with precious perfumes & flowers. As the final part of the ritual, a small replica boat(s) will be filled with spices and other magical items,  and sent (out to sea) as an offering to the Goddess Isis.

New: We are also adding small images / models of wild life & animal in danger, as a way of seeking the protection of Goddess Isis for these endangered species!

Practical  details

Meet us at Richmond Train station (just by coffee shop!).   Meetng 1pm.. We’ll walk together to the ritual spot by the river..for ceremony & feasting.  We expect to be back by station at 4.30pm..  and visit a cafe or pub to socialise (in warmth).

Please wear absolutely sensible, warm, water poof cloths..  Our rituals go ahead whatever the weather..  So no need to double check ..if its snowing or  blowing storms! Just turn up and take a chance..  Magic is supposed to be wild and tied with nature!!

All are Welcome to attend these . Do contact us and contribute with your creativity, knowledge & magic for these new explorations..
